Rex Reminds Us Why We Need to Read His Blog

November 7, 2007 by Marcus

You can’t say it any better than this:

Bottomline: It’s not the magazine format that’s under threat. It’s the
consumer, mass-appeal, mass-marketed, subscriber/newstand/advertising
business model that is built on a magazine that costs $40 million
before break-even that’s under threat.

Must I remind you why you need to link to Rex’s blog?

    Hi Josh-

Thanks for visiting our blog… are links not showing up for you? Please let me know your specs (browser, system, etc.) if so, and I’ll have our guys look into it.

Nice articles on your website, btw - especially liked the one about Pistorius.

Marcus - Classic haughty-blog-comment blunder: just after posting, I felt that pang of self-doubt - what if the link was there, but just not garishly-highlighted enough for my decrepit eyes to detect? And so it was - I placed the arrow-thingamabob over the word “this,” and there was the link.

I tried to nip my comment in the bud, but Wordpress had some stern words for me about posting too frequently. Agony - doomed to be shown for the impulsive critic that I am!

FWIW, I’m rocking Firefox 2.0.0.9 on Mac OSX 10.4.10. I’m adjusting my browser settings to underline links and maybe flash different colrs, perhaps play a little “here’s a link” .wav file, just to make sure this doesn’t happen to me again.

Been there, done that - have the t-shirt, myself. Thanks for visiting our blog. :)
