Why her? the multilingual cook (she was born and raised in Switzerland) travels
the world managing the design and development of Puma retail brand stores, performing store feasibility studies, site-analyses, construction administration and project close-outs. her smart balance of creativity and experimental curiosity makes her
standout amongst her peers, according to a colleague, who says, "She comes up
with the most logical, efficient and operational back-of-house as well as maximizing
sales merchandise without compromising the customer experience."

Why him? Fetters' ability to bridge the gap between design and
documentation, conception and execution, together with his skills
in managing the design vision as well as on-site realities, have made
him a go-to resource at Gensler for projects both large and small. he
was one of the key players in transforming the san Francisco Visitor
information center into a youthful and exciting destination for city
visitors. he was also instrumental in designing projects for the north
Face and san Francisco international airport's pop-up retail in terminal 3. (see page 42 for more details.) outside of work, Fetters gives
back to the community, lending his design talents to organizations
such as dining by design, rebuilding together and the Union square
Bid streetscapes committee.

On her radar: "i'm really enjoying the return to raw materials and functional
designs that go back to the basics with an innovative aspect. A coffee shop down
my street - Spina, in Brooklyn - is a flower and plant shop that also provides fullservice event management."
Biggest challenge on the job: "striking the correct balance between
the different parts and pieces of a project ... it's so easy to lose focus on
the big idea and begin prioritizing single elements like budget or schedule but ultimately it's finding a balance that makes the great projects."
