Must-Do Marketing Campaign

I
always feel a renewed sense of
purpose when September rolls
around. Summer vacation is
behind us, school's back in session,
the weather starts to cool down (or
at least a tiny bit here in Arizona).
It's almost as if someone has hit
a "reset" button. That's why I like
that it's also Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), the national
awareness campaign that Life Happens has coordinated for the past
12 years. It gives us a chance to reenergize our activity for a strong
year end. Here are a few reasons why
you should consider leveraging the
LIAM campaign this year.
1. It focuses everyone's attention. The advisors and producers we work with know that selling life insurance is a day in and
day out endeavor, but the truth
is, it can often take a back seat
to other sales and business obligations. LIAM is just 30 days,
which makes it a good way to
focus everyone's attention and
rally them around this important
product. The campaign is long
enough to see results, but short
enough that enthusiasm doesn't
fizzle out.
In my business, my team and
I sit down in mid-July or the
beginning of August to review
all the LIAM resources that
Life Happens creates and then
help the advisors put together a marketing campaign built
around those many resources. I
highlight certain flyers, videos,
and graphics in my weekly messages, suggesting different way
advisors can use them in their
outreach with clients and prospects. The team at Life Happens
has created some great social
media content and infograph-
ics. We plan to encourage advisors to make good use of the
30-day social media plan (see
#4 below).
2. It has national celebrity power
that you'd never be able to get
on your own. This year's LIAM
spokesperson is NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. She has broad
appeal that crosses age and gender divides, which makes using
her story and message an easy
decision. What would you pay
to have Danica Patrick speaking on behalf of your business
about the importance of life
insurance and how getting coverage is the "right thing to do?"
