s the NAILBA Charitable Foundation moves
into the second year of
my reign tenure as President, I
am thrilled to be able to welcome
back a dedicated Board of Directors, and to welcome a couple of
new ones.
On the Executive Committee,
in addition to Robin Landers,
reprising her role as Vice
President; Kathy Carlson, as our
Secretary/Treasurer; and Mike
Smith as our Immediate Past
President, we extend a warm
welcome to NAILBA's new CEO,
Dan LaBert. Dan brings extensive
association experience to NAILBA,
and a healthy respect for the work
of the Foundation. Jeff Mooers
joins the Executive Committee
as NAILBA's 2018 Chairman, and
Chad Milner rounds out the crew as
NAILBA's Secretary/Treasurer and
the 2018 Grant Review Committee
Chair. Chad was a valued member
of last year's Grant Review
Committee, so he knows what he's
in for this year. It's a daunting, but
rewarding, experience.
Last year's Foundation Board
decided to add two seats to the
Board of Directors. We are thrilled
to welcome Danny Brooks, of
NAILBA member agency Southern
Insurance Group. He has long been
a champion of the Foundation,
having
sponsored
winning
Foundation grants and securing
valuable items and experiences for

the annual Silent and Live Auctions
benefiting the Foundation. I think
he knows EVERYBODY in Nashville.
We also warmly welcome
Michelle DeClerck, President of
Conference Event Management, a
long-time supporter of NAILBA and
a presence in the Annual Meeting
Exhibit Hall. Michelle has been an
avid supporter of the Foundation.
Continuing their terms are Patrick Bowen, Legal & General America; Allen Bress, AIM Marketing and
Insurance Services; Pete Chrisos,
Protective Life Insurance Company; Barbara Crowley, Brokers
Clearinghouse; Brad Gordon, MAF
Companies; Steve Howard, Broker
World Magazine; Lori Payne, AIG;
and Scott Weilage, Weilage Advisory Group.
These are all talented and successful individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to

improve their communities through
charities close to home and close
to their hearts, and through the
Foundation, which gives away as
much money as it can each year
to charities sponsored by NAILBA
members and its corporate partners. We couldn't do what we do
without you.
It seems we are always asking
for money, but we are introducing

This is the time of year that
we get annual updates on the
organizations we've been able to
support in the past, and there
is nothing more heartwarming
than to see how our charitable
giving is being spent. These
are organizations for whom our
giving makes all the difference
in their ability to care for sick
kids, reunite siblings separated
by family difficulties, or provide
meals for hungry families. Please
know that your dollars make a
huge difference. Thank you.
