Click here for a link to the survey. he I&E came to a close Tuesday afternoon with the annual Chapter Recognition Luncheon, which offers one final opportunity to have a little fun and networking time with colleagues before heading back to the office. It’s also the rare chance to see some of the leaders of NAFA act a bit crazy as they shine a spotlight on the host city. For St. Louis, the NAFA chapter leaders were dressed in a Tom Sawyer motif, complete with paintbrush and bucket and pretended to whitewash a fence as they took their turn on stage. Before the chapter leaders were on parade, St. Louis native and former NAFA President Chris Amos, CAFM, gave a brief history lesson about riverboats. As Amos pined, “I couldn’t resist one more opportunity to teach.” One of the highlights of the Chapter Recognition Luncheon each year is the annual presentation of chapter service awards, one to an Affiliate and one to a Member. This year’s recipients included Mark Petersen, Senior Sales Executive for Hourglass Management Corp. and Pierre Moquin who spent 35 years working at HydroQuebec. To be selected for a NAFA Chapter Service Award, a Member or Affiliate must be nominated in writing by their Chapter Board or a NAFA Officer or Trustee. Petersen, who received the Chapter Service Award for an Affiliate, was nominated by two chapters – New Jersey and Rocky Mountain. The NAFA/Bell Canada Larry Goill Memorial Quality Fleet Management Idea Award was created to change that for fleet managers with the goal of highlighting great ideas that actually make a difference. For two decades, the award has honored fleet professionals whose ideas have helped improve productivity, resulted in bottom-line savings, or delivered other positive outcomes for their employer.
