Hewett New ‘Georgia Grown’ campaign under way The Georgia Department of Agriculture recently unveiled a new “Georgia Grown” marketing campaign to freshen the state’s branding efforts for products grown here. A new, revamped logo recently made its debut on billboards throughout Georgia, as well as on packaged fruits and vegetables. “We were very excited to be a part of this rebranding process for an already great program,” says Wendy Brannen, executive director of the Vidalia Onion Committee. Georgians can expect also to see the new logo on state vehicles, signage at farmers markets, in grocery stores and in consumer advertising. Tuskegee Airmen honored in new Museum of Aviation exhibit In World War II, thousands of Americans entered into active combat. During this time, nearly 15,000 black airmen made up the first units to fly in the war and pioneered desegregation of the armed forces. To honor these brave Americans and leaders in the civil rights movement, the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins recently opened a new Tuskegee Airmen exhibit that tells the story of the men serving in the air crews, ground crews and operations support training in the Army Air Corps. LeRoy Eley and Edward Johnson, of Atlanta, and Raymond Williams, of Austell, were three of the original Tuskegee Airmen in attendance at the December ceremony. The museum previously honored the Tuskegee Airmen with an exhibit in 1997, commemorating the February 2012 Air Force’s 50th anniversary.
