This year’s conference will be held at the Hotel InterContinental Dallas, in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 4–6. The theme of the event is “Fulfilling the Mission to Succeed Professionally.” At the 2012 PDC, you can participate in a wide range of professional development activities, including “Personal Branding,” a session presented by businessman, education, speaker and author Stedman Graham; and “EPIC Career Networking,” an event designed to keep you engaged with corporate representatives in discussions relevant to career-, business- and engineering-related topics. Technical training is essential to our mission of developing industry leaders within our ranks. This year’s premier training sessions include “LEAN Certification,” hosted by NSBE’s national AE programs chair, Mikala Windham. For members already LEAN-certified, AE-member DeWayne Allen will present “Affordability in the Aerospace and Defense Sector.” This year’s Professional Development Conference has more than 15 confirmed speakers, ranging from industry leaders such as Cameron Evans, chief technology officer of Microsoft Corporation, to community leaders, including Charles English, president and chief executive officer of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. “Executive Mentoring,” an Annual Convention favorite, will include a group component at the PDC, to allow participants to gain knowledge and advice from senior executives and fellow members.
