ANTENNAS L-com Positions Itself to Support DAS Technology L-com, Inc. has released four new HyperLink brand distributed antenna system (DAS) antennas, paving the way for greater support of DAS technology. The antennas, which support frequencies ranging from 698 MHz up to 3.0 GHz, include a high-gain sector antenna, directional log periodic antennas, an all-weather Omni directional antenna, and an aesthetically appealing ceiling mount antenna. All four antennas offer high value at prices that easily fit within any DAS installation budget. Distributed antenna systems are becoming more common both inside large office buildings and throughout sprawling campuses as a solution to providing broadband wireless network coverage at reduced operating costs. By combining multiple antennas over the coverage area with a single radio source, wireless engineers can provide improved cellular and WiFi signal strength even in locations where www.AntennasOnline.com NEW PRODUCTS & SERVICES signals from a single antenna would not be adequate. L-com’s HyperLink brand DAS antennas are well suited to provide wireless coverage in diverse environments where DAS may be deployed, and at prices as low as $22 each. “DAS is an exciting new system architecture that is evolving to provide 100 percent wireless uplink in all locations regardless of building size or geographical expanse,” said Patrick Pesa, director of Product Development. “Broadband DAS technology offers users seamless access to data, voice and emergency communication services all while saving money compared to traditional wireless system architectures.” All four antennas are stocked at their fulfillment center in Boca Raton, FL, USA for same-day shipment. As the technology evolves, L-com said it plans to roll out new products to further enhance its support of DAS technology and offer new options to engineers. L-com’s website offers free engineering drawings and CAD models of these products for download. Digitally Tunable LTE Antenna Solution for M2M Market Taoglas USA, Inc. has teamed up with Peregrine Semiconductor Corp. to bring a dynamically tunable LTE antenna solution to the M2M market. The solution contains an embedded surface-mount ceramic PIFA antenna from Taoglas, the Warrior PA.710.A, and Peregrine’s successful PE64102 DuNE Digitally Tunable Capacitor (DTC) on one evaluation board.
