Raley's is launching a new
line of chef-created meal
kits. The line from West
Sacramento-based Raley's
includes full kits, "quick
kits" (pre-cut vegetables
and cooked chicken);
Steamable Rotisserie
Sides (to be paired with
rotisserie chickens); and
"creative kits." The meals
are seasonally inspired
and recipes will rotate
quarterly. All offerings are
made with clean ingredients and the highestquality produce and meat.
Meal kits will retail for
$16.99-18.99, quick kits
for $14.99 and steamable
sides for $4.99.

company's roster of more

grocery stores nationwide. Rubicon hires
people who have been
incarcerated, homeless or
recently recovered from
substance abuse. The sixinch Peppermint Fudge
Layer Cake will retail for a
suggested $12.99. Rubicon
calls it a "classic chocolate
cake" with candy cane
filling and frosting and
drizzled with a rich chocolate glaze.

04. The Kroger Co.
announced it has rolled

out Home Chef meal
kits at select locations
in Illinois, Kentucky,
Michigan, Ohio and
Wisconsin. The meal
kits are expected to
be introduced in additional markets in 2019.
As part of the roll-out,
Kroger said it will offer
four Home Chef meal
kit options at its stores
each week, rotating the
menu options from week
to week. Additionally,
Kroger said it will debut
a limited market test of a
new Home Chef Express
product in Kentucky,
Michigan and Ohio.
Home Chef Express is
a quick-cook meal kit
that is ready in about
15 minutes. Each meal
serves two and starts at
$8.50 per serving.

sushi specialist Genji
is pushing alternatives
to traditional tailgating
fare in a new footballthemed promotion.
Genji, a subsidiary of
Philadelphia-based
Peace Dining Corp.,
wants football fans to
think outside the box
this season - and casts
itself in the role of its
hometown Eagles,
winners of Super Bowl
LII. Genji is the largest
sushi provider to Whole
Foods Market.An all-new
sushi platter menu, three
varieties of dumplings
and endamame, which
are eaten like shelled
peanuts, are among the
Genji alternatives to
traditional gridiron
game foods.
