Life Master
Joe Grue, at 27 years old,
has become the youngest
player to achieve Grand Life
Master, a rank that requires
winning an NABC-plus event
and earning more than 10,000
master points. Grue won the
Reisinger Board-a-Match
Teams - one of the two or
three toughest events on the
ACBL calendar - in Honolulu
last Fall. Grue is a WBF World
International Master. He won
the World Youth Team Championship two times - at
Sydney, Australia, in 2005 and at Bangkok, Thailand, in
2006. He is a full-time player from New York City.

Fred Gitelman of Las Vegas
is a Grand Life Master. He
has numerous successes at
NABC events. He is a WBF
World Life Master and won
the IOC Grand Prix Open
Teams in 2002. Gitelman is
a computer programmer who
developed the Internet site
Bridge Base Online. Besides
being a popular online site
for playing bridge, BBO is
considered the premier site for
broadcasting important team games over the Internet. The
International Bridge Press Association named Gitelman the
Personality of the Year for 2005.

Grant Baze of San Diego
CA has topped the 40,000
masterpoint barrier. Baze is one
of the leading full-time players
and a Grand Life Master. He is
a WBF Open Master and has
won three world team events.
He was the first ACBL player to
win 3000 masterpoints in one
year (1984). He is the ACBL's
seventh leading masterpoint
holder.
