NABC+ Fast Pairs

Winners of the Fast Pairs: Doug Doub and Adam Wildavsky
October 2008

Doug Doub and Adam Wildavsky took the lead
by a board after the first final session and cruised
to victory in the NABC+ Fast Open Pairs. Their
winning margin, on a top of 77, was nearly two and
a half boards.
Second place went to Brian Platnick of Evanston
IL and John Diamond of Boca Raton FL. Their
score of 2539.64 was well behind the winners' total
of 2726.08.
In the Fast Pairs, players have 11 minutes per
round instead of the usual 15.
Doub teaches bridge at home in West Hartford
CT. Wildavsky, who lives in New York City, is a
software engineer for Google.
Doub and Wildavsky finished second in the Fast
Pairs two times previously. They have other significant accomplishments, including a bronze medal in

the 2003 Bermuda Bowl in Monte Carlo. They
