International
Fund Game
Winners
A couple from British
Columbia posted the
top score in the ACBLwide International
Fund Game held at
clubs across North
America on May 8.
Charlie Christie and Katie Christie scored 72.92% at the
North OK Duplicate Bridge Club in Vernon BC.
The contest was played at 121 sites and attracted more
than 1400 tables. The May 8 game raised $9269.04 for
the International Fund, which is used to subsidize player
participation in world championship events.

Instant MP Game

The 27th annual ACBL-wide
Instant Matchpoint Game will
be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at
clubs across North America.
The contest pays section-top
winners one gold point each.
Players will also receive a
booklet with complete analyses of the deals by many-time
national champion Larry
Cohen.
The ACBL-wide Instant Matchpoint
Game is the only club event awarding gold points.
There will be two contests: an open championship
and a secondary contest. Club games of five or more
full tables will be included in the open event. Open
games of 14 or more full tables may break into multiple sections of seven or more tables. The secondary event will be scored for invitational clubs with
five or more full tables in play. This event will award
.80 gold points to section-top winners.
In stratified games, only the unlimited top strata
will award gold to section winners. All other awards
are half-red and half-black.
In the open championship, the overall winner will
receive 20 points (depth of award paying 10 places).
District-wide winners will receive 10 points (depth
of award five places). The first-place winners will be
recognized on the ACBL website and in the Bridge
Bulletin. Winners will receive the greater of the
nationwide and the district awards, in addition to
masterpoints won at the game itself.
The overall winners for invitational clubs will
receive 7.50 points. There is no district-wide award
for invitational clubs.

EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION ELECTION NOTICE

ACBL members interested in running for the Board of Trustees of the ACBL Educational Foundation may
submit a written declaration of candidacy. The deadline for submission is Oct. 15.
Two members of the Educational Foundation's nine-member board will be elected by the ACBL Board
of Directors from the membership at large for a three-year term. The election will occur at the fall Board of
Directors meeting in Phoenix AZ. Trustees do not receive expense reimbursement.
Candidates may send a written declaration containing name, address, player number and biographical information with a
focus on experience with nonprofit organizations to: ACBL Educational Foundation, 6575 Windchase Blvd., Horn Lake, MS
