San Francisco hosts Fall NABC Nov. 28-Dec. 8
All aboard the Golden Gate Express! Next stop: San
Francisco, where the bridge world is converging for the Fall
North American Bridge Championships.
When you're not at the bridge table, you'll find plenty of
dining options, prime shopping destinations and cultural
attractions in this most magical seaside city.
Of course there'll be plenty of bridge action, too. The San
Francisco Intermediate/Newcomer program welcomes
players eager to advance their knowledge with free lessons,
speakers prior to most sessions, and games tailored for
newer players who want to compete and socialize with their
masterpoint peers. Friendly, experienced bridge-playing
volunteers are available before and after the games to look at
a problem hand with you or talk through a tough auction.
The Soloway Knockout Teams debuts Friday, Nov. 29.
A two-day Swiss qualifying round reduces the field to 32
teams, who then play head-to-head knockouts until the first
Soloway KO champ is crowned.
Eddie Kantar will be in the house celebrating the re-release of two of his classics: "Introduction to Declarer Play"
and "Introduction to Defense." Follow the Daily Bulletin for
details.
Junior Day: Less-experienced players age 20 and under
are welcome to a special game on Saturday, Nov. 30, 3-5:30
p.m. A party follows, open to Juniors 25 and under. Though
