board provided a huge contribution to
our score and assisted us with a win in
the event. I saw the opponents literally slump in their seats after it. Even
though both sides had successfully bid
a slam, the approach following each
result was very different. We tried not
to let their good score distract us, while
our making slam had an obvious effect
on the opponents and contributed to
their lack of success in the crucial final
round."
Frazer has lots of advice about dealing with pressure and stepping outside
your comfort zone, which she recommends. She also shares ideas for coping
with slow opponents and even pairs
who seem to have your number. Her
goal is to help readers learn techniques
that will allow them to arrive at the

bridge table ready to play, focused and
confident. This is the kind of book
that probably should be read multiple
times so that the principles sink in and
become routine. It certainly would be
worth your time.
