November 2022 | Bridge Bulletin | 9 Safety protocols The ACBL will follow all relevant protocols to protect the health and safety of players and staff. As this issue went to press, the ACBL is still planning to require that participants be vaccinated against COVID. Masks will be optional unless local community transmission levels of COVID shift to " high " and/or if a player asks an opponent to wear a mask at their table. Failure to comply with such a request is subject to disciplinary action. (Players should bring masks just in case.) The ACBL will use the digital VOW platform that offers a safe and secure way to verify vaccination status before the tournament begins. Players must upload photos of their IDs and vaccination cards to the service. When verified, they'll receive an approval confirmation they can display on site when requested.
