If you play that a cuebid of 2h by the
advancer shows a good hand with a fit
for opener's suit (a limit raise or better),
then the auction is forced to at
least 2s. When opener doubles, then
the overcaller no longer is forced to
bid, they can pass. Applying the principle
of fast arrival to this auction,
bidding 2s is the weakest action, and
passing shows a slightly better hand
and interest in investigating game.
2s = Fast arrival - a minimum overcall.
Pass
= A decent overcall, interested
in game if advancer has more than a
limit raise.
3s (or a new suit) = Trying for game
if advancer has extra values or a good
fit.
4s = Good overcall, enough for game
opposite a limit raise.
