Viewing the Bridge Bulletin online
As hundreds of new members join the ACBL every
year, there are some organizational messages that bear
repeating from time to time, and one of these is how to
enjoy the online version of the Bridge Bulletin.
If you've not already done so, you should spend a few

minutes to check out the MyACBL portal at acbl.org.
It's located at the top of that web page, and it's a gateway
to the members-only section of the ACBL website.
MyACBL contains many great features. You can see a
detailed look at your masterpoint history, update your
personal information, request missing copies of the
magazine, and view the online version of the Bridge
Bulletin in addition to enjoying many other membership
perks.
If you're not familiar with MyACBL, it's the members-only
section of our website with all types of great features. To access the
MyACL portal, you'll need your membership number and a password of your
choice, but once you've selected one, you're ready to go.
The Bridge Bulletin link in MyACBL allows you to see the current issue of the
magazine. Looking for back issues? Easy: Just click the Archive option at the
top of the screen. This will open a menu of past issues back to January 2005.
(Sorry, earlier issues are not available in digital format.)
Looking for a particular article, but can't remember which issue it appeared
in? Use the Search option, and be sure to indicate on the pop-up menu whether
you wish to search the current issue or the archive issues. Searching digital
records is a bit of an art, so using key terms and trying a variety of relevant ones
will help narrow your search. If you still can't quite find what you're looking for,
contact us.
Understanding the ACBL convention cards
The ACBL convention cards are useful and fun tools for playing duplicate
bridge. But because filling out a convention card can be an intimidating task for
newer players, the Bridge Bulletin has created a series of articles that provide a
step-by-step guide on how to do so. The " Conventional Wisdom " series - which
originally appeared in the magazine from April 2022 to May 2023 - may be
found at acbl.org/tournaments/#charts. Simply scroll to the part of the page
that contains links to the various ACBL convention cards, and look for the
Conventional Wisdom link.
Also available in the same location online is the popular " Bidding Toolkit "
series which contains an explanation of two dozen of the most popular conventional
treatments that players use today. 2
