and dedication are apparent in everything they touch, from their day-to-day responsibilities to
their involvement in ERGs, mentoring and more.
Audrey Adlam

As the leader of the HGTV Communications
team, Adlam is the go-to
person for planning, developing and executing the network's
press campaigns that, simply put, build buzz and drive ratings.
In 2020, her team delivered more than 157 billion media
impressions for the network and generated more than 3,000
press placements in top-tier national media. Striving to improve
in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, she speaks with
her peers and leaders " everywhere, every day, " sometimes using
straight talk or " what if " scenarios to highlight the urgency
of getting DEI right. " The issues surrounding diversity, equity
and inclusion should be reviewed and addressed every day, not
just when something bad happens. We have to be accountable
to each other. We have to keep this going, " she says. " When we
make it into the room where decisions are made, we have an
obligation to use our voices. "
Sophia Ahmad
EVP & Chief Marketing
Officer, Xfinity
Comcast Cable
Ahmad and her team are the connective
tissue between Comcast and
the customers it serves, ensuring the company's products and
user experience are exceeding expectations at every level. Every
day, she supports company-wide goals and initiatives through
her marketing communications and sales tactics. Ahmad has
also been a key part of Comcast's $100 million multi-year plan
to advance social justice issues, using platforms to educate
viewers on different viewpoints and experiences. One of the key
projects was the launch of the " Black Voices. Black Stories " content
collection on Xfinity X1 and Flex, a destination with content
reflecting many aspects of the Black experience.
Mediacom Communications
That Anderson is a trailblazing female
attorney working in the male-dominated
world of professional sports is
all the more impressive considering she wasn't trained to be a
sports attorney. This year, she negotiated the multi-million-dollar,
multi-year deal that made Mediacom the primary sponsor of ACF
Fiorentina. She also served as senior in-house litigation counsel
when the North American Soccer League filed an antitrust lawsuit
against Major League Soccer and the United States Soccer
Federation. Having seen no role models like herself on TV when
she was a kid, Anderson really appreciates shows like HBO's
" Insecure " and Starz's " Run the World. " " Both shows highlight
the Black female experience and accurately tackle nuanced situations
that reveal the challenges and successes of being both
African American and a woman in a predominantly white male
society, " she says.
Tamara Bowens
GVP, SMB Sales & Retention
Charter Communications
Bowens is never afraid of a challenge,
and she's proved it by recently transitioning
from a marketing to a sales
role. She oversees revenue attainment, expense management,
and operational performance inside sales and retention centers.
She also partners with the marketing team on messaging and
targeted offers to attract new clients, upsell current customers,
and reduce churn. Another challenge Bowens doesn't fear?
Challenging the status quo. She doesn't shy away from asking
questions and enjoys collaborating on forward-thinking ideas.
Her leadership, approachability, and open mind have made her a
trusted advisor and mentor. " I am a member of the formal mentorship
program for Charter's Multicultural and Women's business
resource group. In addition, I mentor many other ethnically
diverse employees as I believe mentorship is the foundation for
a successful career, " she says. " When hiring, I always ask the
recruiter to put forward a diverse slate of candidates. Representation
matters and is important to any organization. "
