Greatrex had big shoes to fill when he took the reins of Cox at the start
of the year, but he's already begun making his mark on the company's
culture and product roadmap. He has become the co-chair of the Cox
National Diversity Council and is using his passion for sustainability to
ensure Cox reaches its enterprise-wide goals of zero waste to landfills
by 2024 and carbon and water neutrality by 2034. He's doing it all
while continuing the company's commitment to excellence in connectivity,
announcing a multibillion-dollar annual infrastructure investment
over the next several years that will ensure Cox's network is 10G capable.
The company is also committing $400 million over the next three
years to expand its footprint to rural and underserved communities and
has hinted at plans to soon join the wireless market.

What does the metaverse mean to you? The physical world
has a digital twin and we could exist in both planes of
life.
Band I'd go see live: Adele (hopefully sometime soon...)
The phrase " digital divide " will go away when... everyone
has the connectivity, devices and basic knowledge to use the
internet for the pursuit of prosperity and happiness.
If I had a time machine, I would... have a cup of tea with Gandhi. ■

Now at the helm of the recently renamed Paramount Global,
Bakish has come a long way since earning his first paycheck
as a dishwasher at a surf and turf buffet. In 2021, aside from
ViacomCBS gaining a new moniker, the company launched the
streaming service Paramount+ and then secured the U.S. rights
to Serie A, the premier Italian soccer league. Paramount+ viewers
will have access to more than 400 club matches live every season
through 2024. In another sports win, the company reached a
long-term multiplatform distribution agreement with the NFL. This
deal, which runs through the 2033 season, expands rights across
Paramount's properties with all included games to be broadcast
on both CBS and Paramount+. Other 2021 highlights include an
expanded distribution agreement that adds 14 cable networks to
Hulu + Live TV and a capital raise of nearly $3 billion to advance
strategic priorities including streaming.
Band I'd go see live: The more relevant question
is what band wouldn't I go to see live? After two
years in a pandemic, I crave live music. Saw the
Killers recently. Was incredible!
What childhood memento have you kept? My first
pair of snow skis
Favorite dish that I can also make myself: Linguini with white
clam sauce
What household chore could you win a gold medal in? Cooking.
