$5 billion, including $1.2 billion
in RDOF subsidy money, to reach 1
million rural locations across 24 states
in the coming years. She's been busy
making sure there is equitable and
timely access to utility poles to quickly
expand broadband. This year, Bohigian
and her team will continue to stay
busy securing funding through many
different state and federal broadband
deployment programs.

BIGGEST ROADBLOCK IN FIBER EXPANSIONS? Supply chain issues
and the difficult economics of building to rural areas are real obstacles,
but quick and cost-effective access to utility pole infrastructure is the
biggest roadblock. Faster access to poles can shave months-or even
years-off the time to deploy and will be critical to delivering internet
availability to 100% of the country.

Program has addressed an important aspect of the digital divide by
helping more than 16 million families gain access to reliable and affordable

comes to fiber. With Ross at the
helm, it has committed $300 million
toward a fiber-to-the-home
upgrade that will eventually
bring 10G symmetrical speeds to
more than 50% of its customers.
He also led the completion of a
landmark New York construction
project that included the buildout
of 4,000 miles of plant to 21 hubs
serving 115 communities in 2022.
More than 43,000 homes have
access to high-speed broadband
as a result. He gets a huge
thumbs-up from his employees,
with Armstrong's Glassdoor rating
rising from 2.9 to 4.5 in one
year alone.
