THE WHY? Adapting C-SPAN's event marketing approach during the
pandemic forced Dominguez and her team-75% of which are minorities-
to switch how they think about in-person experiential marketing. When
the long-running C-SPAN Bus program was retired, they concentrated on
finding new ways to connect. Virtual presentations, targeted digital ads
and increased social engagement-along with C-SPAN's Powered by Cable
messaging and the new C-SPAN Now video app-led to a hybrid marketing
approach that is driving growth in new, and younger, demographics.
SHE SAYS... " C-SPAN's annual student documentary competition StudentCam
that gives $100,000 to middle and high school students each year
has always been very near and dear to my heart. Seeing these bright, civic-minded
students create thoughtful, short documentaries about issues of
national importance always makes me believe that these are future leaders
in the making. "

THE WHY? Douglas works to ensure TLC's storytelling is representative of
people from different backgrounds and identities. She leads with purpose
and was critical in the creation of two groundbreaking series for Pride Month
this year, as well as a series dedicated to people with disabilities, another that
highlighted the achievements of a woman of color in medicine and one with
the lens on an African-American family with 14 children.
SHE SAYS... " In my experience, organized events where different ERGs have
partnered together have led to significant and meaningful collaboration and it
goes without saying, all of this could not be accomplished without thoughtful
support from our leadership. "
SOMEONE WHO HAS KICKED DOWN A DOOR FOR ME: My mother.
She encouraged me to become involved in the entertainment industry at a
very young age.

THE WHY? Due is well aware of the critical role DEI plays in the news
industry, both on and off camera. Her team recently updated the CNN
GuestBook with searchable demographic information and areas of expertise
and launched the New Voices initiative to help amplify underrepresented
voices. Due also launched the LIFT mentoring program for people of color
and women in the U.S. and London as well as CNN's first-ever DEI brand
campaign, We Are CNN.
SHE SAYS... " Understand that everyone won't see things in the same
way because of different lived experiences and that is OK as long as we are
committed to listening to each other and learning from each other. "
