Housing Authority to launch " Big Apple

She takes her passion outside of the
office, too, as she sits on the boards
of Reverend Al Sharpton's National
Action Network, the Lower Eastside
Girls Club and Eleanor's Legacy.

able during the past year to hire a new generation of diverse employees who may
be new to the industry but have a genuine interest and passion to be successful. He
encourages others to do the same, giving opportunities to new, diverse candidates.

THE WHY: In his role overseeing
unscripted series, Joseph ensures
that 100% of all slated shows have
LGBTQ+, people of color, women
and/or disabled creatives in senior-level
roles behind the camera.
This translates in front of the camera,
too, where his projects explore
a host of marginalized stories.
Joseph is involved as a mentor in
Disney in the Yard, which partners
with HBCUs, and the Hollywood
Creative Forum, which connects
diverse talent with studios.
HE SAYS... " I try my best when
practical in development and
series to find individuals who have
the talent and vision but haven't
yet been given the opportunity to
learn best practices for execution. "

THE WHY: Judkins is rapidly leading
Hallmark Media into a new and
more diverse era. Her efforts to turn
Hallmark's iconic greeting card line
Mahogany into ratings-grabbing original
programming resulted in hits like
" Unthinkably Good Things, " a madefor-TV
movie that garnered Hallmark
Media's first-ever Gracie Award, and
Mahogany's inaugural Christmas
movie, " The Holiday Stocking. " By prioritizing
DEI and creating programs
that better reflect Hallmark's overall
viewership, Judkins is attracting a
diverse mix of on- and off-camera
talent to the company. Up next, she
plans to do the same with Hallmark's
faith-focused DaySpring brand.
SHE SAYS... " In terms of entertainment,
inclusion means telling stories
in such a way that audiences of all
types-race, age, background-can
say, 'I see myself represented in this
space.' "
