Food Network, her campaigns draw viewers to new and existing shows alike.
Her continued commitment to diversity and inclusion across all fronts has
helped make WBD's U.S. Networks an aspirational model to other brands of
the power of a platform that makes every viewer feel welcome and represented-while
increasing viewership, too.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT DIVERSITY WITHIN
THE INDUSTRY? Some appear to believe that DEI is code for " you will get less, " when the fact is that the simple act
of including more people from different backgrounds-and being deliberate about hearing their ideas, perspectives
and experiences-yields more for everyone.
WHO WOULD PLAY YOU IN A MOVIE ABOUT YOUR LIFE? I have the audacity to hope that it would be Oprah or
Octavia Spencer.
Chara-Lynn Aguiar

Since being promoted in November 2023, Aguiar has made smart programming
and financial decisions designed to draw younger, female and more
diverse viewers to ESPN. But she's been working to create an inclusive and
respectful culture at ESPN far longer than that. A member of several DEI-focused
committees and councils at Disney and ESPN, Aguiar collaborates
with colleagues to create workable strategies to ensure DEI is always part of
the discussion when business decisions and strategic initiatives are made.
WILL AI HELP OR HURT DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION? AI will be helpful and
beneficial to the sports industry and the sports fan. For ESPN, we have the potential to tap into the technology in a
variety of ways-from personalization to clip generation to closed captioning at scale, as just a few examples.
WHAT DOES WORK-LIFE BALANCE MEAN TO YOU? It's a myth.

Aguirre has been an active participant, mentor and leader in various employee
resource groups at Comcast and previously at AT&T. He participates and encourages
others to give back to the community and has been actively engaged
in educational programs through Junior Achievement and as a former board
member for San Antonio Sports, an organization focused on transforming
communities through sports and programs designed to inspire children. He has
a long history of leading through mentorship and people development and is
involved with Comcast's Team UP program.
HAS THE INTERNET CREATED MORE INCLUSION OR EXCLUSION? In my opinion, the internet has unlocked a world of
opportunity to drive better inclusion and awareness. Bridging the digital divide and ensuring widespread connectivity
can be transformative, offering access to resources that enhance education and skill development, and creating
potential life-changing opportunities.
