Somebody to Lean On
The world moves faster than it ever has before and change is inevitable. Technological
advancements arrive every day, companies merge or split apart and that show you were
watching on one streaming platform jumps onto another when you least expect it. We've
all been there.
But at the end of the day, there is someone that is always there for us-our broadband
provider. Every time you look at your device and see those full bars in the corner, it's a
reminder that you're not alone. You can access news from around the globe, weather
reports, job opportunities, educational platforms and maybe even download a relaxing
mobile game. When there's nothing else to rely on, customers can bet on the fact that
they'll be able to connect with others online through the internet. It has become a vital
part of our society, and an invaluable way to connect with others across the globe.
The extended universe of connectivity providers has only grown in the last year as fixed
wireless and satellite providers have continued emerging on the scene and as fiber
operators have stepped up alongside cable operators to connect some of the nation's
most rural communities. In Paris just a few weeks ago, Olympic commentators were
saying " iron sharpens iron, " and the same could be said for those looking to enhance this
broadband backbone. Competition pushes everyone to look for new markets, introduce
enhanced products that unlock the power of the network and to guarantee low latency
and greater reliability.
Top Ops continues to place a spotlight on those operators large and small that are able
to set themselves apart from the pack. Each of our honorees has a different formula
for winning, but many credit similar tools that have allowed them to reach success-a
strong company culture, a willingness to change and a desire to be there for those most
in need.
But nobody can connect America alone. This issue celebrates
not only those that are building the pipelines
needed to handle network traffic, but also those that
have been advocates for the industry in Washington and
others that have ensured the supply chain is ready to
handle the plethora of buildout projects that will kick off
in the wake of grant initiatives like NTIA's BEAD program.
We're all in this together, and with a little help from our
friends, I'm optimistic we can close the digital divide
once and for all.
