Why Them? This year, Bratches
and Preschlack helped secure not
one, but two mega-multiplatform
deals that brought ESPN's content
to subs via authentication. First
it was Comcast, which doubled
WatchESPN's distribution to 40
million homes. Then in October,
Cablevision subs got the good news.
One of Bratches' strategic goals is
to increase affiliate and ad sales by
leveraging mobile, where the net
currently dominates market share.

Why Them? For most of
the year, McSlarrow served
as Comcast/NBCU's D.C.
president, reporting to Cohen
and working closely with
Neil Smit and Steve Burke.
But in October, he got a job
in operations, sending him
outside the Beltway for the
first time in years. Will he
miss it? Probably some,
content wherever, whenever they
want it-and on any device-is a
tall order. But it's the only way to go.
Expect additional deals in the future
as Preschlack looks to spearhead
more multiplatform deals on behalf
of ESPN and Disney's suite of
products and services.

former post, it made sense to
rank him alongside Comcast's

discussions was still up in the air
at press time, but their importance,
with Time Warner Cable circling,
merits Tuzon's ranking on our list.

significant distribution deals, including
