2011 Top Techie
Yvette Kanouff
President, SeaChange International
We went through our Women in
Tech list, checked it twice and
decided to bestow our 2011 Top
Techie honor upon Yvette Kanouff,
who leads a company that delivers
VOD services for more than 30,000 subscribers across
the globe. Under Kanouff's guidance, SeaChange has become
a top player in multi-screen video technology. She
works with all the top cable operators and during the past
year added U.K.-based Virgin Media and Singapore's
StarHub to her client roster. Her greatest accomplishment
is " building a business from scratch, from a company that
had zero revenue and little industry support for video on
demand services, into a vibrant, successful business, "
she says. Congrats to Kanouff and SeaChange!
Susan Adams
SVP, Engineering, Comcast
The SVP role at Comcast
commandeered by Adams
includes leading a robust
team of engineers and
technical staff responsible
for building and maintaining

With nearly 25 years as a
telecommunications engineering
executive, Calhoun
practically holds the knife
when it comes to the industry's
cutting edge. The company
recently offered the
Easy gadget-an evolutionary
app for the PC at home,
iPhone, iPod Touch or
iPad-free to Bright House
customers with home
phone and Internet services.
Calhoun notes that " reliability
of our platforms will always
be a priority for engineering, "
while " keeping contingency
plans up-to-date is a constant
challenge. "
Kelly Day
EVP/GM, Digital Media
& Commerce, Discovery
Communications
Day was promoted to her
current role two years ago
and hasn't looked back.
She now oversees Discovery's
U.S. Web sites,
digital operations and programming,
e-commerce
operations, licensing and
home entertainment. Her
greatest accomplishment?
" Leading the way
on our mobile and social
platforms, launching four
amazing iPad apps, integrating
social functionality
across all of our 16

Veteran cable and
telecom exec Boudreau
has been at the nexus of
Cox's transformation to
next-generation technical
operations since she
became corporate director
of systems operation
centers in 2009. Prior to
her more recent role, she
advanced up the ladder at
Cox New England, where
she led system operations
and network surveillance,
among other tasks. Boudreau
is active in the cable
community outside of Cox,
and previously served the
Board for WICT's New
England chapter.

In April 2011, Ceasar was
upped at Comcast to her
new role in which she oversess
all NE&TO video deployment
projects, including
cross-company initiatives,
infrastructure projects,
technical launch management
validation and readiness
for service activation.
Ceasar's deployment scope
spans video systems,
guides, iTV, cross-platform
applications and video-ondemand
infrastructure. This
includes acting as liaison to
senior engineering leaders
in various divisions and
regions for deployment of
Comcast's video projects in
the field.
Grace Egan
VP, Engineering and Product
Management,Time Warner
Cable
Since joining Time Warner
in 2002, Egan has been a
driving force in developing
and implementing new
products for TWC-which
she notes is all the more
essential as the industry
competes with developing
entertainment tech. " I worry
that people believe cable
is our parents' and grandparents'
solution. Cable is
not viewed as innovative
and sexy, " Egan says. " We
need to move quickly to
launch new products and
create a new reputation.

and better communication

Cyndee Everman
VP, Business Support
Systems, Time Warner Cable
Everman has certainly
made good on her 2008
Woman of the Year award
from WICT/SCTE/Communications
Technology. Her
efforts in building Time Warner's
Customer Care Value
Creation (CVC) program
and the Advanced Agent
Desktop for customer service
reps became industry
benchmarks. She calls the
award " one of my proudest
moments, joining an amazing
group of women who
helped chart the course for
other women in the industry
to follow. It was a truly
humbling experience. "
