Sonny Sachdeva is a research

chemical engineering from
the Indian Institute of Technology
Kanpur, India. She has
six years of professional experience
in multidisciplinary
research in the areas of membrane
separations, fuel cells,
hydrogen storage, reactive chemicals and fireretardant
materials. She has undertaken many
projects related to industry and government
agencies in the field of process safety.
Delphine Laboureur is a research
scientist at the MKOPSC
(same address as above),
working on a broad range of
process safety research topics,
including offshore safety,
dust explosion, DDT, jet
fires and incident investigations.
She obtained a degree
in mechanical engineering
from Belgium's Université
Catholique de Louvain (UCL)
in 2006, and a diploma course in fluid dynamics
from the von Karman Institute in 2007. In 2012,
she received her Ph.D. from the Université Libre
de Bruxelles (ULB) for the work she performed
at the von Karman Institute in collaboration
with the Ecole des Mines d'Alès, in a joint project
financed by the CEA Gramat. The objectives of
the thesis were the experimental characterization
and the modeling of hazards.

Zhe Han is a research assistant

a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at TAMU.

Sunder Janardanan is pursuing
his Ph.D. in chemical
engineering at TAMU (same

B.S.Ch.E. at the Institute of
Chemical Technology (ICT) in
Mumbai, India. He is a part of
the reactive chemicals group
at the MKOPSC. His research
objective is to improve the
overall safety of the n-oxide synthesis process
by identifying the conditions where homogeneity
exists. Apart from this, he is also involved in
many projects related to process safety.
Wen Zhu is a research assistant
and Ph.D. student
in the chemical engineering
department at TAMU (same

tamu.edu). She has experience
related to the study of
reactive chemicals and her
main research interest is risk
assessment of the oxidations
of hydrogen peroxide. She received
her B.S.Ch.E. from Tianjin University of
China in 2013.
Sam Mannan is regents
professor and director of the
MKOPSC (same address as
above). Before joining TAMU,
he was vice president at RMT,
Inc., a nationwide engineering
services company. In that
capacity, he was the national
program manager for the Process
Safety and Risk Assessment
projects. His experience
is wide-ranging, covering various
aspects related to process design, process
safety and risk assessment in the CPI. Mannan
is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions
from AIChE, TAMU and IChemE, including
the recent " Bush Excellence Award " for Faculty
in Public Service. Prof. Mannan received
his B.S.Ch.E. from the Engineering University
in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1978, and obtained an
M.S.Ch.E. in 1983 and Ph.D. in 1986 from the
University of Oklahoma.
