36th OR Manager Conference
is here! Starting on September
17, hundreds of perioperative
leaders will be meeting in Music City,
Nashville, TN, at the Music City Center
for four days of educational and networking
opportunities, as well as exposure
to one of the most culturally rich
cities in the US. The 2023 program
features hands-on education, actionable
solutions, and various strategies for
our attendees to take home and apply
toward meeting their goals.
The last time the OR Manager Conference
was held in Nashville was in
2018, and it was one of the best, most
well-attended shows to date. Past attendees
said it was " bigger and better
than ever, " as well as " new and different, "
and we look forward to replicating
that amazing experience this year. Here
is what attendees can expect.
Pre-conference workshops
Sunday, September 17, is packed with
simultaneously run pre-conference activities:
from 2 to 5 pm local time, we will
hold three workshops and a novel experiential
education facility tour. They are:
* ASC Leader Workshop: " Embracing
outpatient care-Positioning for
growth in new service lines "
* Leadership Workshop: " Effectively
coping with stress-The case for
wellness integration "
* New Leader Workshop: " Key budgeting
components for success "
* A field trip to the newly renovated TriStar
Centennial Medical Center Advanced
Joint Replacement Institute
and the offsite sterile processing
facility at the Vanderbilt Case Cart
Operations Center.
Access to one of the pre-conference
workshops or to the offsite facility tour
is $395, and registration will be open
until the activities start. For attendees
who purchased an All-Access or Best

conference with her keynote, " Passionate
leadership-Soaring to new
heights. " Join us at 8 am local time
on Monday, September 18, for a
high-content, high-fun hour to get
primed and supercharged for the
future.
* Marcus Schabacker, MD, PhD, president
and CEO of ECRI, is a boardcertified
anesthesiologist and intensive
care specialist with more
than 20 years of senior leadership
in healthcare. Dr Schabacker is presenting
that Monday afternoon's
keynote, titled " Where are we now
with patient safety and quality? "
starting at 3:15 pm local time. Be
sure to join us in the ballroom at
3 pm for the OR Manager Awards
ceremony that will take place right
before.
* Nancy Norton, RN, is an award-winning
comedian and our closing keynote
speaker. Join us at 11:15 am
on Wednesday, September 20, to
see her combine humor, real-life experiences,
and lessons of empowerment
aimed at leaders during her
session, " The power of humor to be
an effective leader. "

This year's program has been tailored
to feature new speakers and institutions
and offer fresh perspectives on
the latest research, technology, process
improvement, best practices, and much
more. Attendees can choose from 45
