Human resources dashboards reshape
workforce planning
H
uman resources (HR) dashboards
focus on a leader's
most important resource: people.
These dashboards can provide
a bird's-eye view of an organization's
staffing situation or drill down to the
level of an individual unit or person to
identify trends and inform decisions.

Fresh tools, talking points drive sharps
safety culture shift
S
harps injury prevention is in the
spotlight, as safety-focused OR
leaders pursue new opportunities
to fuel conversation and awareness
about all that has changed. The goal:
to prevent transmission of dangerous
bloodborne pathogens like hepatitis
and HIV via sharps injuries to patients
and the healthcare workforce. After all,
sharps safety is a regulatory requirement
and an important part of advancing
a safe practice environment that
supports wellness on all levels, including
occupational safety.
Barriers to success are a reality, including
the usual safety setbacks like
noncompliance and coordination for reporting.
However, new evidence, new
perspectives on implementing sharps
safety, and new models for success
can help reignite a preoccupation with
sharps safety before injuries occur.
What has changed
Fresh reasons to prioritize sharps safety
in 2025 include:
* Injury uptick. Sharps injuries are a
risk for nurses performing patient
care involving needles across all
care settings. In the OR, the risk
extends to all members of a perioperative
