SEPTEMBER 2023 | WWW.POWERMAG.COM SEPTEMBER 2023 | WWW.POWERMAG.COM SOLAR & OTHER RENEWABLES Solar power continues to draw the most investment among power generation technologies, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). The group reports that global fi nancial support for solar photovoltaic (PV) increased by more than 20% in the past year, with solar PV accounting for nearly 45% of the total investment in electricity generation. Growth in solar power, along with other renewables such as onshore and offshore wind, geothermal, and hydropower, is expected to continue thanks to government and policy support for clean energy and strategies to decarbonize the power generation sector.
