Driving Change on the Grid-The Impact of EV Adoption
Utilities and grid operators need to prepare now for the increased power demand
from the electrification of transportation, as more electric vehicles (EVs)
hit the road in the U.S. and worldwide. Regions with high concentrations of
EVs will see impacts and may need upgrades to transmission systems, but
proactive power generators could see benefits from these higher loads.

energy goals is expanding. That means
new wind and solar installations will
continue to grow. The U.S. Energy Information
Administration expects electricity
generation from renewable energy
sources will increase from a 17% share
of the U.S. mix in 2019 to 20% this year
and 21% in 2021. Even with federal tax
credits disappearing, declining costs are
making renewables an attractive option.
