C
ustomized solutions, products and systems for internal logistics
have been the focus of the BEUMER Group for over 75 years. One
of the group's three product areas is conveying and loading equipment,
which includes tubular belt conveyors, troughed belt conveyors,
steel cell conveyors and bucket elevators.
The BEUMER Group is a technological leader in curved belt systems
and open troughed conveyors, as well as in enclosed tubular
belt conveyors. For the latter, the recent acquisition of KOCH Holding
a.s. in the Czech Republic has added many further years of experience
to the group's portfolio.
Tubular belt conveyors are ideal for dusty, wet, cohesive or light
materials, for applications with exacting environmental requirements,
or when a narrow, curved conveyor is needed. In the power industry,
coal and ash transport are typical applications for tubular belt conveyors.
The conveyors can be tailored to customers' requirements,
with the material for the overlapping belts chosen to suit the application,
capacity and length of the conveyor. For instance, normal, heatresistant,
and abrasion-resistant rubbers are available.
Examples recently installed by the BEUMER Group include a 12.5
km-long curved belt system in the Chinese province of Sichuan and
a 4.3 km-long tubular belt conveyor in the Ukraine which transports
material in opposite directions in the upper and lower strand.
Two BEUMER tubular belt conveyors have also been installed in
a Dyckerhoff cement works. A special feature of these conveyors is
their gradient of 29 degrees, though depending on the material to
be handled, the closed shape of a tubular belt conveyor can allow it
to overcome even steeper gradients. Dyckerhoff has also taken the
opportunity to specify the conveyor with superimposed horizontal
and vertical curves, allowing both the length and cost of the conveyor
to be minimized.

new add-on module for the ROTALIGN Ultra laser shaft alignment
system from Prüftechnik needs just one turn of the shaft
to acquire alignment data for a machine train with up to five couplings.
As well as live trending and vibration acceptance checking,
the new multiple-coupling module features a " live move " function
to monitor simultaneously the horizontal and vertical corrections
