Regional Meetings Continue with International Events
The second and third AEA Regional Meetings of 2012 will take place in the month of August. After a productive and engaging inaugural AEA Latin America Regional Meeting with more than 50 attendees in 2011, this year’s event is set for Aug. 13-14, 2012, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The event takes place at the Bourbon Convention Hotel Ibirapuera. It is located in the neighborhood of Moema, adjacent to the Ibirapuera Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in the city and three kilometers from Congonhas Airport. The full meeting registration is $285 USD per attendee, and the deadline for advance registration is Aug. 8. The two-day event is scheduled prior to the ninth annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition. Please note the AEA conference is separate from the LABACE show, and both events require separate registrations. Come early to the AEA conference, and then stay for LABACE. In addition, the 2012 AEA Canada Regional Meeting takes place in Calgary, Alberta, Aug. 28-29, at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel, just 10 minutes from the Calgary International Airport and one hour from the Rocky Mountains. The two-day event advance registration fee is $285 USD per attendee, and the deadline is Aug. 22. The exhibitor registration fee is $500 USD and includes two booth personnel and display table.

How to prepare & submit your comments to the FAA

The Aircraft Electronics Association will produce its third member webinar as part of a series of progressive one-hour courses designed to educate member businesses on the scope of the Federal Aviation Administration’s proposed rewrite of Part 145. The webinar will be moderated by Ric Peri, AEA vice president of government and industry affairs. AEA members unable to participate in the first two webinars may review the items previously discussed at www.aea.net/Training/webinars/ Part145Changes. On June 20, the AEA’s first member webinar reviewed the fundamentals of developing and submitting comments with an overview of the FAA’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. The second webinar took place July 16 and provided an in-depth analysis to the changes to Part 145. The third and final webinar on Aug. 7 will include a continuation of the progressive review of the NPRM and preparation for submitting comments. AEA member input on these rules is essential to the future and livelihood of certified repair stations. There is no cost for AEA members to participate; however, each session has a limited number of participants. AEA members may register for the Aug. 7 webinar online by visiting the AEA website.
