" We enjoy working on all sorts of aerospace
projects, " he said. " We're fortunate to have had
the opportunity in the company's short existence
to work on some really exciting ones. We're
working on a rotorcraft water-activated safety
device, developing an RPAS (remotely piloted
aircraft system) solution that will be able to fly
autonomous routes to collect a variety of data, an
aircraft modification to allow taxi and navigation
lights to be used for ground handling, and a
police helicopter completion. "
Bigger vision for the future
Barton believes success in business depends
on a few key fundamentals with communication
being one of the most important.
" The smooth execution of any project requires
everyone to be included in the project scope and
schedule, " he said. " We try to ensure that there's
communication at each step and do our best to
ensure that our customers get what they want at
the end. "
While Bartronix may be small now, Barton has
a big vision for his fledgling company.
" We'd like to be able to build the business
to the point that we can hire employees and
start training the next generation of Canadian
delegates, " Barton continued. " Every project we
complete gets us closer to our goals. "
As the company takes flight, Barton also wants
to find ways to work closely with industry to
strengthen the community and the profession,
especially given the talent shortage.
" I think the AEA and its industry partners are
working well to strengthen aviation, " he said.
" The AEA delegate subcommittee that Ric Peri,
Kevin Bruce and Scott Starick have started is
another great example of the community pulling
together to ensure we're able to provide the best
services to our customers in the years ahead. I'm
really excited to be a part of the AEA and grateful
for all the work the association does for the
industry. " q
