A COMMON AGENDA
T
he largest gathering for our industry since
2019 crowded the show floor of the 66th
annual AEA International Convention &
Trade Show to participate in the nearly weeklong
showcase for avionics innovation and training. For
those who make it their team's annual professional
development event, it's a week of new business, new
products, and connecting with old friends.
We also like to celebrate a little and
offer our congratulations to Dewey
Conroy of Pacific Coast Avionics for
being selected as our member of the
year (see more on page 42) and to
Avidyne for being selected associate
member of the year (see more on page
46). In addition, we recognized one of
our own for 50 years of industry service
and earning one of the FAA's highest
honors. Congratulations to Ric Peri, AEA
vice president of government and industry affairs, as
the newest Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award
recipient (see more on page 11).
Few trade shows offer an experience this familiar
During this year's convention, a member
relationships forum hosted by the AEA and led by
committee chair Jamie Luster of Genesys Aerosystems
gathered an equal number of dealers and OEMs to
address ways the AEA can further enhance their
relationship. Everything from workforce and training
to sales policies and dealer agreements was on the
table as the more challenging aspects
of maintaining the channel relationship
were addressed. The group identified
several key areas of focus and will report
on progress as the work continues. If
you haven't already provided your input,
survey invites will accompany the annual
AEA Rate and Labor Survey.

to innovate in delivering our message.
Even though we work tirelessly to put

and that will be our focus for Dallas in March 2024.
