Honeywell
HONEYWELL successfully completed the first flight of its Honeywell Anthem
integrated flight deck using Honeywell's Pilatus PC-12 test aircraft. Although
Honeywell Anthem has been in flight test for more than a year and has accumulated
more than 120 hours of flight time, this flight was the first managed by
the next-generation avionics. First announced in late 2021, Honeywell Anthem
draws on the company's deep aerospace experience and marks Honeywell's first
cloud-connected cockpit system that can be customized for virtually every type of
aircraft, from passenger planes and business aircraft to defense, general aviation
and advanced air mobility vehicles.
According to the company, the PC-12 aircraft was flown using Honeywell
Anthem's fully integrated flight deck, which includes the display system and processing
platform. The one-hour flight over the Phoenix area was flown by Ed
Manning, pilot in command, and Bill Lee, co-pilot, and supported by Paul Carter,
lead flight engineer, and Will Quinn, flight engineer. Honeywell Anthem's core
architectural system offers a 50% reduction in size, weight and power and greater
installation flexibility when compared to Honeywell's Primus Epic integrated avionics
system.
The PC-12 test aircraft with Honeywell Anthem's integrated flight deck will be
showcased at AirVenture 2023 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, July 24-30.

International opened a new
office in Blagnac, France.
The company moved from
its previous Toulouse office
to a larger workspace in
the InSitu Business Centre
- Pythagoras Residence.
According to the company,
the move extends Universal's
capabilities in Europe to meet
growing demand in the air
transport, business aviation,
helicopter, and government/
special mission markets.
The business residence
is in the Toulouse - Blagnac
airport area, located just a
two-minute walk from the
airport with easy access to
bus lines, airport shuttles, and
tramways. A dedicated local
team will oversee business
development, sales, support,
and services activities.
The move to the Blagnac
Airport office follows the
recent opening of a new
facility for Universal Avionics'
North American engineering
and research facility in
Duluth, Georgia. The facility
features open-space seating
and collaborative meeting
areas, fostering innovation
for product design and
development.
