Long Range Planning Committee
Due to the ongoing COVID situation
and other commitments, progress with
the Long-Range Planning Committee
and its planned objectives has been
very limited since our previous report.
However, with the start of the new year,
attention has now started on bringing
together the proposed survey for
SPNHC members to ask what direction
the members would like the society to
go in the future, and facilitate the building
of the new strategic plan.
Other SPNHC committees have also
been looking to carry out membership
surveys, and at a recent online meeting
of the council and committees it
was offered that the LRP would coordinate this work for the
society. To facilitate this, a draft of the previous all-members
survey has been compiled and is in the process of being
circulated to the planning group and associated committee
representatives. We hope to have this finalized and distributed
to membership in the coming months to enable draft results to
be presented at the 2022 Annual Business Meeting.
Repectfully submitted,
Julian Carter and Suzanne Ryder, Co-chairs
Membership
The Membership Committee focuses on ways to promote the
society, retain existing members, and attract new members.
We work with the SPNHC Treasurer to help members keep
their dues up-to-date. We promote SPNHC at conferences
by advertising in conference literature and by exhibiting the
Membership Booth. If you have a suggestion for exhibiting
the in-person or virtual Membership Booth at upcoming conferences,
please contact Tiffany Adrain (membership@spnhc.
org). You may be eligible for full complimentary conference
registration. The committee is happy to hear from anyone
with connections at future SPNHC Annual Meeting locations

reach of the society.
If you haven't already done so, it's now
time to renew for 2022! Annual memberships
expire on December 31, with
a renewal grace period through February
14. Hopefully you have received
reminders. Currently we have 726
members, including 2 Corporate/Commercial;
29 Life; 47 Institutional (supporting
58 sub-accounts); 480 Regular;
81 Student; and 28 Library Subscription

84 new members have joined, including
6 Institutional (serving an additional
12 professionals); 40 Regular; and 25

SPNHC is represented in 33 countries! We welcome new
members representing Brazil, India, Portugal, Puerto Rico,
and Switzerland, who join existing members from Argentina,
Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador,
Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Madagascar, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway,
Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom,

Please reach out to your colleagues around the world and encourage
them to join us for the 2022 SPNHC Annual Meeting
in Edinburgh, Scotland! We will hold our Membership Committee
meeting in person (and possibly virtually), and anyone
is welcome to attend. We are looking for ways to enable
members to sponsor colleagues who may otherwise experience
barriers to joining SPNHC themselves, and we welcome
your suggestions. The 2021 recorded Membership Committee
meeting can be viewed at https://youtu.be/wEE13ZwZ0W4.
