tors for hanging recoverable wheat heads broken
above or below the flag leaf was completed
in Washington, a Zone 5 location, in 2021. Research
was conducted on hard red winter wheat,
soft white winter wheat, soft white spring wheat,
and club wheat. Treatments consisted of breaking
over all wheat heads in each plot at the boot,
anthesis, milk, soft dough, and hard dough developmental
stages. The results are presented in
Table 15.
These results will be further evaluated to determine
if the appropriate charts require modification.
This research will complement research
completed in 2019 at Manhattan, KS,-a winter
wheat Zone 1 location and in 2021 at Garden
City, KS,-a winter wheat Zone 2 location.
