AEA Ambassador Program
Designed to Increase Communication Between FAA Field Offices and the AEA
Have you ever considered signing on as an ambassador for the Aircraft Electronics Association? There are still a few FAA regions open for an ambassador position through the AEA Ambassador Program. As an ambassador, your responsibilities are relatively light, but extremely important. You are the communication conduit between the FAA’s field offices and the AEA’s Government Affairs office. You are the eyes and ears of the AEA in the field and the face to the local FAA office for the AEA. Being an AEA ambassador is easy: A couple of times a year, you will be asked to make an appointment with your host FAA District Office manager and hand-deliver AEA information to the manager with an explanation of what the information is and how FAA participation in a particular event will help the FAA, and particularly the local office. The goal is to ensure the office managers know what the AEA is and what resources and training are provided, so the office managers can better support the requests of their avionics inspectors who wish to participate in AEA functions. Since this program’s inception, attendance of FAA inspectors at AEA regional meetings and the annual convention has increased.
