Editor's NOTE love El Dorado and I love good food. One of my favorite things is the friendly, neighborhood feel of the town where I grew up. Our local restaurants have worked hard to create a pleasant and engaging atmosphere in their dining establishments. I I believe that people of all ages and cultures are brought together by two things: food and music. In October we'll celebrate the 34th annual El Dorado MusicFest (page 18). housands of music lovers will fill the streets for this seventime rkansas estival of the ear, and festival-goers will most likely visit one of the 75 dining establishments within the city. Sharing space next to strangers at a concert is like breaking bread together - it just brings people closer. Celebrating around food and music makes lasting memories and transcends our differences. We communicate and learn more about one another when we share these experiences. I've learned more over food than I have in a classroom, and I've grown to appreciate other cultures through new foods. When I was asked to serve as the ood ditor for the l orado ining uide page , I saw this as just another " learning eperience. Wink-wink. During my preparation for this assignment, I encountered many new items from menus I thought I had memorized. El Dorado's restaurant scene is constantly changing.
