Balakumar Balasingam (Senior Member, singam@uwindsor.
ca) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical
and Computer Engineering at the University of Windsor in
Windsor, ON, Canada. From 2012 to 2017, he was an Assistant
Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of Connecticut, USA. He
received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from McMaster
University, Hamilton, ON, Canada in 2008. After completing
his Ph.D. degree, he held a postdoctoral position at the University
of Ottawa, ON, Canada from 2008 to 2010 and then
held a University Postdoctoral position at the University of
Connecticut from 2010 to 2012. His research interests are in
signal processing, machine learning, and distributed information
fusion and their applications in autonomous systems;
particularly, his close interests are in battery management systems,
human-machine systems and surveillance and tracking
systems.
Pradeep Kumar (kumar84@uwindsor.ca) is a Graduate
Student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
at the University of Windsor in Windsor, ON, Canada.
He received his B.Tech degree from Aligarh Muslim University,
India in mechanical engineering in 2020. He was a visiting
scholar at Ontario Tech University, Canada during the summer
of 2019 through MITACS Globalink research internship
program. His research interests are on thermal modelling and
management of Lithium-ion batteries.
Gary Rankin (rankin@uwindsor.ca) is a Professor in the
Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering
at the University of Windsor in Windsor, ON, Canada,
where he received his Ph.D degree in 1980 and joined the university
as an Assistant Professor shortly after. His research
interests include both numerical and experimental fluid
mechanic and heat transfer studies with an emphasis on fundamental
aspects of applied research problems. Most of his
research is automotive related involving cooling fans, fuel tank
filling and battery cooling, and many projects involve nonmoving
part fluidic devices.
