(4) 2014: new home of The universiTy of The pacific, arThur a. dugoni school of denTisTry, aT 155 fifTh sTreeT in san franciscoF class museums, shopping, dining, convention centers, hotels, housing, and educational institutions, the dental school is situated in one of the most vibrant areas of the city. 22 Before introducing our new facility at 155 Fifth Street, we would like to provide a brief history of the transformation of the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, over the past 117 years that it has served the San Francisco Bay Area. Here is a brief historical outline of the school's legacy: o 1896: The College of Physicians and Surgeons (P&S) is founded in San Francisco at 818 Howard Street, between Fourth and Fifth Streets (1). o 1899: P&S moves to a newly constructed school on Fourteenth Street between Mission and Valencia Streets (2). o 1958: The school outgrows its building on Fourteenth Street and begins raising PCSO BULLETIN * WINTER 2014
