Trustee Report US active membership renewals were also strong at 95.9%, whereas Canadian renewals were at 91.3%. Both of these were increases from last year, which were 94.7% and 86.0%, respectively. Although many may assume that last year's numbers (for fiscal year [FY]2020-2021) were lower than average as a result of COVID-related issues, they were actually similar to our FY2019-2020 numbers (94.7% and 85.1%). PCSO stood at 95.9% of membership, with an improvement over last year's renewals. Some other initiatives that were accepted during our meeting included the approval of several motions from the Council on Orthodontic Practice. Those motions were as follows: ▫ adjusting our forms to expand gender options and add preferred pronouns to better enable us to properly address our patients ▫ producing a social media consent form for employees ▫ and establishing a Task Force to explore and create a plan to address staffing shortages as a member benefit. Please reach out to me if you have any comments, questions, or concerns. I am always happy to discuss these with you at tfelty@aaortho.org or by phone at 778-552-0752. 12 PCSO Bulletin Winter 2022
