Production on a video promoting the rewarding field
of orthodontic assisting is completed, and the video
is being rolled out to assist members in recruiting
assistants to join their team. Additional efforts to assist
members in training staff are underway.

The Hawaii Society of Orthodontists
(HSO) held a half-day CE event on
October 13 in collaboration with
uLab. Dr. Eric Wu presented on
" Navigating the Waters of Digital Treatment Planning, "
and Jen Wendel reviewed treatment planning live in
uDesign. There were three CE units offered.
The HSO also held the annual business meeting at Stripsteak
on October 13, 2022. The elected officers were Dr.
Daron Stevens as director to the PCSO (beginning in
November 2023), Dr. Kendall Tada as president for the
2023-2024 term, Dr. Burt Kawamoto as secretary, and
Dr. David Dung as treasurer. Dr. Mary Cooke, PCSO secretary-treasurer,
attended our meeting and discussed
upcoming WOCON dates and locations, the PCSO Education
Grant, and more. She also called for applicants for
the Ortho Idol at the next WOCON in Anaheim and for
volunteers to represent the PCSO on AAO councils.
The HSO executive board is also planning to hold a CE
event in April 2023 pending funding.

Idaho
The Idaho State Orthodontic Society
(ISOS) leadership team held a virtual
meeting on November 1, where
the ISOS meeting in Sun Valley was
debriefed. The group also discussed strategies for
increasing turnout for the 2023 annual meeting in
Boise and scheduled the leadership team's next virtual
meeting in December.

The Nevada State Orthodontic Society
(NSOS) held our state meeting
on October 29, 2022, at WOCON's
component breakfast in San Diego,
California. We brainstormed some ideas for an upcoming
in-person meeting. Locations and dates will be
announced when more details are available.
We invite all NSOS members to consider leadership
roles to continue to represent and advocate for all
orthodontists in Nevada. Opportunities at the PCSO
delegate level and a PCSO Nevada government affairs
representative are available. Contact meagan.struby@

We hope that our members who
attended the WOCON annual
meeting enjoyed the opportunity for
education, social time, and sunny San
Diego weather! The Oregon State Society of Orthodontists
(OSSO) held its annual meeting in December,
where there CE provided on medical emergencies
and Oregon Health & Science University research endeavors.
The meeting marks a return to an in-person
format with virtual capabilities as well. It was great
seeing everyone again!
The OSSO would like to highlight Dr. Eric Burgin for
his years of service as Oregon's director on the PCSO
Board. Thank you for everything you have done for
