in Class II correction, distalization is 1.5 mm. If patients
have increased lower anterior face height with
excessive gingival display, intrusion of the posterior
teeth with TSADs is a better treatment option than
extrusion of the anterior teeth. The proper vertical
positioning of maxillary central incisor edges at rest is
approximately 4 mm below the lip line from the cephalometric
radiograph. The effects of posterior tooth
intrusion showed that if only the maxillary molars are
intruded, then the mandibular molars tend to extrude.
Extraction spaces can be closed by bodily movement
through the maxillary sinus with light continuous
forces. Extractions during orthodontic treatment have
a negligible effect on the upper airway in adults.
Throughout his lecture, Dr. Park referred to the ABO's
Clinical Scenario Exam's following four domains for
assessment: Data Gathering and Diagnosis, Treatment
Objectives and Planning, Treatment Implementation
and Management, and Critical Analysis and Outcomes
Assessment. These domains highlight the importance
of orthodontists' clinical work and the assessment of
that work. It is important to reflect on our cases and
ensure that we are providing the highest quality of
care based on the literature.
