Device Technologies
Most aircraft are designed to look good and fly well. For the most part, they’re not designed to be worked on, however, and even the simplest piston single can pose some special challenges when it’s time to run new cable or wire. Some special tools and a trick or two up a technician’s sleeve can make all the difference. Enter Device Technologies, which has been providing a full range of specialty wire/ cable protection, management and fastening solutions for more than 25 years. The company introduced its new tool offerings, which are designed to support advanced grommeting materials and standards. Device Technologies’ new tools include a castle removal tool, go/ no-go gauge and a complete tool kit. According to the company, its new castle removal tool and go/no-go gauge “provide the grommet install technician a great deal of flexibility to optimize the wire protection in the aircraft, doing so in a matter of seconds per hole versus minutes.” Both tools, plus a pair of cut-off shears and a roller Device Technologies’ SpringFast wire installation tool, come in the protection grommet edging allows instant snap-on installation. pre-packaged kit, designed to facilitate installing the company’s Mil-Spec grommet edging, SpringFast. Device Technologies’ products are distributed by EDMO. To learn more, visit www.devicetech.com.

0.0001 inches Mercury resolution, providing direct-reading airspeed (up to 550 knots) and altitude (up to 55,000 feet) values, along with other pressure units, including psi, Pa and mbar. The PAMB is housed in what the company calls a rugged, compact enclosure of just 1.8 pounds, with AN4 (Ps) and AN3 (Pt) pneumatic connections. It operates on 12-volt DC power with RS232, Ethernet or USB outputs. A simple menu-driven annual certification is required and available from the factory on a 24-hour turnaround basis, making the PAMB10/11 transfer standard the perfect instrument to ensure that air data standards are maintained within calibration. The PAMB10/11 is available in single- (10) or dual- (11) channel configurations from either DMA Aero or DAC International. To learn more, visit www.dma-aero.com.

DPI Labs
Cabin management systems and in-flight entertainment capabilities are increasingly in demand among passengers expecting the same amenities and flexibility aboard a private aircraft as they have at home or in their office. As one result, using a personal electronic device like an iPhone or iPad to play back content – or even to control their immediate environment – is moving up rapidly on operators’ must-have lists when it’s time to fit a new or existing aircraft cabin. DPI Labs, which also introduced a wide range of CMS and IFE products at the AEA Convention, might be able to help. DPI offers a growing array of components designed to support portable devices, manage cabins and provide in-flight entertainment. For example, using the company’s Smart Link data bus with its fault-tolerant high-definition distribution network, which is based on fiber-optic technologies, means electrical isolation, EMI immunity and lightweight cabling throughout. DPI Labs’ Legacy DPI Labs also offers a Legacy Replacement Replacement Solution compatible with the forSolution mer Pacific Systems components, which soon will be unsupported by the manufacturer. The company’s line of controllers includes components designed to replace obsolescent switching with HD-compatible technologies while preserving existing form factors. In most cases, according to the company, the same mounting panels can be retained even as new-technology

DMA Aero
DMA Aero introduced its PAMB10/11 Precision Pressure Standard, offering both pitot/static and direct pressure/ vacuum measurements throughout the atmospheric pressure range. With an accuracy of less than 2 feet at sea level, the instrument is considered a portable NIST-traceable transfer standard, which can be used to calibrate or validate air data test sets or aircraft instruments in the field. The device also can be used simply to measure barometric pressure with very high precision. The PAMB features a 3.5-inch backlit, colored LCD touchscreen display for simultaneous Ps and Qc measurements. Its measuring range is up to 105 inches of Mercury, with
