The JA95-001 from Jupiter Avionics
“Our next-generation GH-3900 features a virtually unlimited number of configuration options and can interface with a wide range of onboard equipment, creating a high degree of parity between the primary and standby instruments.” L-3 Avionics Systems is one of six companies in the L-3 Aviation Products business sector. Latitude Technologies
The company’s line of switches, adapters and audio controller products – plus the JA37-001 aural message generator – can be configured and controlled via a Windows-based application, ProCS. The application facilitates testing and diagnosing installations while providing a well-known interface for the user. According to the company, Jupiter’s facilities offer both pre- and initial certification testing. Capabilities and equipment include decompression and overpressure testing, a wide range of electrical, RF and audio susceptibility evaluations, plus temperature, humidity, vibration and voltage-spike simulations. Owing to the company personnel’s experience in manufacturing the NAT line of similar devices before it was merged into a larger company and its facilities closed, Jupiter may be thought of as NAT’s next incarnation. To learn more, visit www.jupiteravionics.com. Flight data monitoring is growing in both capabilities and use, as the value of accessing and analyzing various aircraft parameters becomes increasingly accepted among operators. Often, however, unless an airframe comes from its manufacturer with the necessary hardware already installed or required by regulation, retrofit options are limited. Latitude Technologies, a leading supplier of satellite-based telephone, tracking and messaging avionics, introduced its new IoNode flight data monitoring solutions as a possible solution. Available for both fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft, Latitude’s IoNode flight data monitoring products can continuously monitor and capture up to 32 gigabytes of aircraft-generated data to its own internal storage media and/or a USB flash drive. Using its expertise in satellite-based communications technology, the company also offers real-time download when an IoNode system is connected via the SkyNode satellite communications system.

L-3 Avionics Systems
L-3 Avionics Systems released its updated and enhanced GH-3900 electronic standby instrument system. The company told AEA attendees the product’s added features and a new, lower price make the GH-3900 “a more customizable and affordable standby solution.” Designed to Level A software and hardware standards, the GH-3900 ESIS can satisfy airworthiness requirements for almost any transport category fixed- or rotorwing aircraft, according to the company. The GH instrument series can be modified to match a wide range of primary systems. Hardware enhancements of the improved model include a wide variety of airL-3’s GH-3900 data and heading selections as well as optional built-in accelerometers providing external LRUs with relative data. Sensor and air-data enhancements, according to the company, plus more efficient printed circuitboard designs, result in a smaller and lighter form factor than previous versions. “The trend toward more versatile PFD and MFD layouts that can be adjusted to meet a variety of missions is increasing in all flight operations categories,” said Larry Riddle, L-3 Avionics Systems vice president of business development.
The hardware is lightweight and small, enabling easy installation, and is designed to work with industry-standard analysis software. When used with the SkyNode satcom system, the IoNode products can provide real-time alerting if an in-flight anomaly is suffered. Meanwhile, alerts and eventdetection thresholds are customizable, allowing operators to monitor specific flight profiles, standard operating procedures and airmanship. Latitude Technologies holds and maintains Transport Canada, FAA and EASA STCs and other qualified data for its products; STCs for the IoNode product line are pending. Laversab
Laversab has been in business 20 years, offering a wideranging line of pitot/static and air data test sets for aviation, along with oilfield automation products for the petroleum industry. Laversab introduced the Model 6580 automated air data test set, which is similar to Model 6500. “The big difference is this test set has the pumps built in,” said Nandu Balsaver of Laversab. “The pumps run very quiet and won’t be a nui- 18 -
