THE IMPACT OF COLLECTIVE
KNOWLEDGE ON MORALE
The collective knowledge of a team
plays a crucial role in shaping its
culture. When team members share
their expertise and experiences, it
creates a culture of learning and
growth. This not only boosts morale
but also enhances problem-solving
abilities and innovation.
Industries where turnover is high,
like many deskless jobs, can have
a more difficult time creating and
maintaining a strong company
culture. Because employees are
constantly turning over, it may be
hard to unite your team and keep
spirits high. It's important to ensure
that when an employee quits, their
knowledge doesn't leave with them.
That's where the imperative role of
training comes into play.
SHARING KNOWLEDGE
THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE
TRAINING
Comprehensive training programs
are key to sharing knowledge
effectively within a team. It's what
allows everyone the opportunity
to be confident in their abilities.
By providing employees with the
necessary skills and knowledge,
training programs empower them to
perform their jobs effectively. This not
only improves individual performance,
but also strengthens team cohesion.
Training is most effective when
it seamlessly integrates into an
employee's existing workflow, and
new training platforms are making
this integration easier than ever.
By utilizing QR codes or sharing
links through workplace apps that
employees are already using, training
can be accessed on-demand, right
when it's needed. This approach not
only saves time for employees by not
requiring them to step away from their
tasks to seek information, but also
reduces interruptions for managers
who would otherwise need to address
these questions. Additionally, this
method significantly cuts down
on costs associated with hiring
and employing a full-time trainer,
making it a cost-effective solution for
organizations of all sizes.
COMBATTING THE
FORGETTING CURVE
One challenge in maintaining a strong
team culture is the forgetting curve,
which shows that people forget at
least 50 percent of what they just
learned within a day. Without regular
reinforcement, new knowledge will
quickly fade away. This is where
re-training programs play a crucial
role. By periodically refreshing
employees' knowledge, organizations
can ensure that their team members
remain competent and engaged.
It's also important to consider your
audience. With Millennials and Gen-Z
now making up a large portion of the
frontline workforce, leaders need to
be sure that training content is visual
and engaging in order to hold their
attention. With current attention
