for operators. The participation level in
both programs was very strong, further
solidifying ANFP as an industry leader
in trend data. Both studies reopened
in March for 2020 data entry, and I
encourage you to participate if you work
in either of these settings. Registration is
free, and you will gain access to a wide
variety of key data points from which you
can compare your own practices.
MEMBERS REMAIN
E N GAG E D
One of our key goals is to secure our
profession's future through increased
member recruitment and engagement.
The increase in our membership renewal
rate is an important piece of this
initiative, and we continue our efforts to
bring new students and members into
our organization. While it's one thing to
maintain our high membership numbers,
even more important is to keep our
members actively engaged.

I mentioned earlier the increasing number
of members who participate in our online
member community, ANFPConnect.
This is a fantastic member benefit that
you won't find elsewhere. Additionally,
our Call for Volunteers this year brought
forth several new members eager to work
on our boards and committees, and
I'm thrilled to see this fresh leadership
emerging. There is truly no better way to
both give to our profession and receive
incredible rewards in return, so I urge
each of you to see how you can make a
difference by volunteering either at your
chapter level or our national level in the
year ahead.
As I depart as your ANFP Chair, I believe
it's crucially important that we do a
thorough assessment of what we did right,
and what more the board needs to look at
in service to our members as we continue
to navigate this pandemic. COVID-19
clearly exposed some very real issues such
as mental health, our safety, and the

razor-thin margins many of us operate on
in our facilities. We have many resources
to support those who are struggling,
including grant programs and more to
help members maintain their credential
through tough times like these, and we
will continue to ensure that support is
available.
As we transition to the very competent
leadership of our new ANFP Chair Omar
Humes, CDM, CFPP, his forwardthinking agenda will guide us and
challenge us in the days ahead. He will
be the first Chair to serve a two-year
term starting June 1, 2021. We also have
many new officers that will help us stay
on track, in partnership with our staff,
to balance the needs of our members and
the fiscal responsibility of being good
stewards for our organization.
In closing, thank you for all your support
over the past year. Please stay safe and
healthy. E
