through the fiercest of storms.
We monitor the ANFPConnect member
community posts so that the ANFP
Board and staff can stay relevant on
trending topics of concern to us as
members. One of the most active
discussion topics has been the burnout
many are feeling due to the myriad
challenges in recruiting and retaining
staff. ANFP has developed a very pointed
media campaign with messaging for
healthcare administrators on the value
CDM, CFPPs bring to their facilities,
along with the need for staffing and
compensation policies to help address this
labor crisis. This ad campaign appears in
the November issue of Provider magazine
(both print and digital versions), which is
the monthly publication of the American
Health Care Association and the National
Center for Assisted Living. Here is where
we can play our part. Please continue to
address workplace challenges with your
administrators, and reinforce your value,
needs, and solutions to abate this ongoing
labor crisis.
A copy of this ad appears on the following
page, and I'm asking everyone to share
it with your administrator, executive
director, owner, etc. Remember, we
must start tooting our own horns and
promoting the value we bring to our
communities daily.
Our work continues establishing an
Apprenticeship program for the CDM,
CFPP with the U.S. Department of
Labor. We are still waiting to hear back
from them regarding the results of their
analysis of the O*NET data. Once they
can code the occupation to O*NET, then
the industry outreach will begin. We
will keep you informed as these efforts
progress.
Last year a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Task Force was appointed, with the
charge of developing a model that
allows for a consistent commitment to
DE&I in all ANFP programs, services,
and committees. I'm pleased to share
the DE&I Statement that the Task
Force presented to the Board at our
June meeting, which was unanimously
approved:
We at ANFP celebrate the inclusion of
people from all walks of life. As we embark
on this journey, we understand individuals
are the foundation and embrace their
differences so we can be successful as we serve
others.
The work of the Task Force continues,
as they construct recommendations
for educational programming, DE&I
training, and communication strategies to
ensure inclusivity across our organization.
The work being done by this team will
be a continual journey as we progress
forward.
In September, I began a new initiative
to maintain a more consistent line of
communication with our chapter leaders,
called the Leadership Happy Hour, to
discuss new and ongoing challenges,
ideas, best practices, and improve
communication with leadership. This
will be a standing monthly call that will
